Halloween Sugar Cookies (Ghost Cookies)

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup 1 stick butter, softened
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • For icing: 1 cup confectioners’ sugar + drops of water black food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Cream butter and sugar until pale, fluffy, and well blended.
  • Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth.
  • Stir in flour and baking soda to form a soft, non-sticky dough.
  • Wrap and chill the dough for 1 hour to firm up.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll dough ¼ inch thick, cut ghost shapes, and place on lined baking sheets.
  • Bake 8–10 minutes until edges are lightly golden but centers remain pale. Cool completely.
  • Mix powdered sugar with a few drops of water to make a thick glaze. Spread over cookies and let set.
  • Tint a little glaze black, then use a cocktail stick to drip on ghostly eyes and mouths.
